We need you!

The work ahead of us is enormous and important! We need your help!  The following is a list of ways which you can support us in building a strong local organization here in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Become a member: We encourage individuals to become a member of the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario and by doing so automatically become a member of our local chapter.  Contact our office and we will send you a membership form. There are many benefits to becoming a member, in addition to supporting the local chapter.  These include free subscriptions to the provincial newsletter “Communique”, The Learning Disabilities Association of Canada newsletter “National”, and to our quarterly newsletter “The Link”. If you're interested in joining, you can click on to the link the membership form, fill it in, print it out and mail it to the address on the form.

Become a volunteer:One of the pillars of building a strong, sustainable organization is a dedicated, committed group of volunteers. We need volunteers to deliver many of our programs including: Board Members, speaker series facilitators, office administration support staff, fund-raising, etc. Give us a call if you have some interest, talent and time that you would like to share with our organization!

Become an individual supporter: In addition to becoming a member, individuals may wish to make a donation in support of our local chapter.  Individual donations can be directed to specific programs, identified for a unique project or offered in support of our services.

Become a community partner: The synergy of building community partnerships is identified as one of our strategic goals. The mutual benefits to organizations and the “win-win” opportunities that benefit individuals with learning disabilities within the community are tremendous! We look forward to expanding this partnership base.

Become a corporate sponsor: Corporate sponsorship for our services and programs is one way in which your business/organization can make a direct contribution to individuals with learning disabilities in this community. We are seeking corporate sponsorship for a number of new programs and services which are being developed. Please give us a call to see how you can give back to your community through a corporate sponsorship, specifically targeted to a particular program which meets a community need. 

Leave have legacy. Winston Churchill once said “You make a living by what you get, but make a life by what you give.” As a charity, “in memoriam” donations and bequeaths in remembrance of a loved one can be offered.
